Hello perfume people. We’re back with another edition of Mood Scent 4. Each month my fragrant partners and myself team up to share some fragrance love highlighting a specific theme. The Mood Scent 4 team features Portia at A Bottled Rose (Australia), L’Esperessence (Netherlands) and I Scent You A Day (Wales, United Kingdom) and we are your perfume selectors today for Well Named fragrances. So for me this means scents that smell as they’re named or a scent that just has a fabulous name.
Nectar Of Love : April Aromatics : Tanja Bochnig : 2012
Nectar Of Love is one of those scents that makes me feel that I’m enjoying it a little too much. It feels good in a therapeutic, calming way, yet is interspersed with moments of ecstasy. The Indian jasmine has a blinding potency that shines amongst layers of rose petals and ripe tuberose. Let’s just say that it’s a scented onslaught that smells divine. Nectar Of Love is aptly named and is romantically sexy.
Daisy : Marc Jacobs : Alberto Morillas : 2007
Daisies are a whimsical, simple, happy looking flower with a youthful bright energy. Daisy, the perfume comes in the most playful, fun bottle with a floral cap that’s hard to not love. It’s definitely one of the more distinctive bottles on the market. When I see the bottle it’s easy to visualise fields of the happy flower. The perfume is joyously simple with a floral heart and a freshly cut grass vibe with strawberry tips and a musky drydown. Daisy feels young, pretty and very easy to wear. It’s well named to conjure the simple allure of a daisy and is a great name too!

Riviera Drive : Atelier Des Ors : Marie Salamagne : 2019
This name of this fragrance is deceptively simple in managing to conjure a drive along the French Riviera. On this scenic, meandering escapade along the coastline you’ll be smelling the spiritually reviving Pin Parasol and Provencal herbs cutting through warm air. Riviera Drive is an aromatic fragrance with woods and a windswept, invigorating outdoors feel, that brings a sense of revival. The fragrance also mirrors the allure of the azure coloured Mediterranean waters with a vivid blue bottle.
deadofnight: strangelove : Christophe Laudamiel : 2014 :
This is a night dreaming scent with a dark, lush oud backdrop. You’re blindfolded and smelling something fierce and feral but it’s becoming more attractive the longer you’re around it. deadofnight is attractive and repellent, it’s dark and mysterious and feels like you’re sleep walking in a dream filled reverie. Rosy and ambered with a muskiness and the central pull of oud, it casts a shadowy spell in the deadofnight.
So that’s a wrap for this edition of Mood Scent 4. Thank you so much for stopping by and please make sure to read my fellow Mood Scent 4 group writers : Portia at A Bottled Rose, Samantha on I Scent You A Day and Esperanza on L’Esperessence.

Hey there Megan,
I bloody love Riviera Drive! One day I’m going to own a blue bottle of it. SO GLAM. Yes, perfectly named.
You have me lemming a taste of Deadofnight too. Sounds utterly transportive.

Hi Portia. deadofnight is definitely very much all about the oud but it’s so nicely done that I feel quite mysterious wearing it. And yes the blue bottles are absolutely gorgeous and you must get a bottle one day! xxx

Hi Megan,
Well I’m already a fan of the Riviera Collection and I’ve been wearing my Pomelo Riviera like mad in this heatwave. I agree about Marc Jacobs Daisy too. Perfectly named and so pretty and chaste. It’s one of those that seems to please everyone, even fussy chypre-loving me. A lovely selection!
Always a joy to write with you!
