I haven’t compiled a French music list for a while, so here’s one for summer and what better day to do it than Bastille Day or La Fête Nationale as they say in France. I have committed to learning Le Marseillaise today so I can sing it when the firework celebration starts tonight or rather on Saturday as it’s so windy they’ve been postponed. Whether you’re planning on coming over for a holiday and want to acclimatise so to speak or would like to add a few French tunes to your collection that go beyond the well known old standards, this Spotify selection will give you a taste of contemporary French music. There are two older songs thrown in the mix as well from Air and Serge Gainsbourg. Serge just because. He is still my favourite Frenchie.  Although for a modern act I highly recommend Christine And The Queens.
