First up, let’s hear it for Julianne Moore and Patricia Arquette who won Academy Awards last evening and a great speech made by Patricia on equal pay for women. Even though I haven’t seen their respective movies yet, I highly respect their acting abilities and these are surely deserved wins.
On the fashion front, there was a distinct lack of spectacular frocks. It was a little bore snore.
Of the dresses that did stand out for me though, they were truly outstanding and they weren’t of the glittery, beaded persuasion. Margot Robbie looked chic in a black long sleeved Saint Laurent gown with a plunging neckline.
Red was the colour of choice for Rosamund Pike in a rosy Givenchy number with a cinched in waist. She looked gorgeous.
Sienna Miller stunned in a black sleeveless Oscar de la Renta dress. A sleek choice.
On the male front, Eddie Redmayne was a winner on the Oscar podium for Best Actor and also looked dashingly handsome in Alexander McQueen.
And one final mention goes to Lady Gaga. She definitely makes a statement with the red gloves delivering a show stopping finish to the Azzedine Alaïa gown.

I loved Lupita and Emma Stone was gorgeous…the worst of the night was Naomi Watts, that tube top dress thing was horrid. And sorry, I was not a fan of Gaga’s “outfit.” But hell, I was sitting at home watching in sweats. They all looked better than I did 🙂

Your two picks were next on my list. Lupita and Emma always looks great for the big events. Ha they definitely all looked better than me too in my not so sartorial jeans and jumper.
