Saint Claude: Christine and the Queens : This is a great track from Chaleur Humaine one of the best selling albums in France over the last year. Real name Héloïse Letisser, she creates beautiful tracks for this musical project which also incorporates dance, performance, drawings and photography.
River : Ibeyi : This French / Cuban twin duo make smooth, cruisy tunes and are signed to XL Recordings. The sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz have music in their blood. Their father is musician Anga Diaz and played with the Buena Vista Social Club.
Bermudes : Les Fauves : Rapid fire spoken word in le français against a chilled backdrop. Great track from this French collective.
Cheese Naan : La Fine Equipe, Fakear : This is a French Collective of beat makers and it’s from the album La Boulangerie, Vol 3. All the tracks are named after food items. Love the name of this one. It’s quirky and upbeat yet has a laid back vibe.
Fade Out Lines : The Avener : The album The Wanderings of Avener, from French DJ and producer Avener is pretty big on the charts at the moment in France. This tune is a reworking of the track Fade Out Line by Phoebe Killdeer and Craig Walker. It’s an easy listening, beaty number. One of those fab dinner party or chill out tunes.
