Well Xmas Day flew by and it was a great day here. Scrumptious French food, wines and celebrations with family. The weather was superb. Bizarrely it is not yet that cold in the South of France and to top it off the sunset was gorgeous with rosy pink skies that perfectly framed the day.
Here is a list of my Top 5 December Tunes to get you through the Festive Season that are upbeat / smooth / chilled. These tunes have been on high rotate this month.
Funky Beats : NEW DORP. NEW YORK : Sbtrkt, Ezra Koenig : Big love for this track, funky but also quirky. It’s the best track from the album Wonder Where We Land.
Slow Build : Can’t Do Without You Extended Mix : Caribou : It’s a slow burner but delivers the goods. I saw these guys play with Radiohead in Berlin a couple of years back, definitely worth checking out.
Sci-Fi Beats : Delorean Dynamite : Todd Terje : This takes me back to my raving days but sounds so much better. Has a Bladerunner vibe. Love the title.
Fab Remake : Wicked Games : Parra for Cuva, Anna Naklab : Loved the original Chris Isaak version. Remember the video with Helena Christensen and Chris swanning around in a hammock? This does the track justice bringing it up to date for a new generation.
Atmospheric : Yellow Flicker Beat : Lorde. She is super talented and smart beyond her years. This is her best track so far. It’s from the Mockingjay Hunger Games Part 1 Original Motion Soundtrack that she curated.
Bonnes Vacances.
So glad you had a fab day. Merry Christmas!
